July is keenly aware that air conditioning has a major impact on the environment. That’s why they are doing what they can to reduce and mitigate their impact on the environment.
As a way to take responsibility for their operating emissions, July chose to join the Carbonfree® Small Business Partnership Program, neutralizing 36 metric tonnes of operating emissions as well as offsetting 1 year worth of emissions for every A/C unit they sell – at no cost to the customer. For the past two summer seasons since launching, July has measured and offset all emission from their air conditioner units and dedicated their donation to reforestation efforts.
In addition to those offsets, July is investing in technologies and processes that will make cooling better for the planet. The July A/C unit makes use of R32 refrigerant, which is a next generation hardware that reduces electricity consumption by 10%, by more efficiently conveying heat. Additionally, compared to traditional air conditioners on the market, an R32 unit has global warming potential (GWP) that is 70% less than comparable hardware. And that’s just inside the unit. July’s packaging utilized recycled materials and minimizes excess packaging waste so that customer can reduce their own landfill waste from home.
