Beginning in 2017, Verdant partnered with Carbonfund.org to calculate the annual carbon emissions for its data centers, business flight and automobile miles, and its energy usage for offices. Then Verdant makes a corresponding donation to Carbonfund.org to neutralize those emissions by supporting third-party validated and verified voluntary carbon offset projects like the Texas Capricorn Ridge Wind Project. Through 2021, Verdant has neutralized 939 metric tonnes of carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 170 average US homes.
As part of Verdant’s Triple Bottom Line commitment to “People. Planet. Profit.”, Verdant chose Feeding America as recipient of its year-end charitable giving drive. As a team, Verdant helped to provide 104,250 meals to families in need this year. Every day, there are millions of children and adults who do not get the meals they need to thrive. Feeding America works to get nourishing food – from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers – to people in need.
